Of all the books I've ever read, this one perplexes me the most, and that's saying something.

Of the 22 friends on my Goodreads that have read this, only one gave a three star rating. The rest were four and five. I've felt, right from the start, that I was missing something big about this book, but even now, I'm still not quite sure what that something is.

Long story short, I really just didn't like this book. I read it a few years ago and am only now getting around to writing a review, but I felt I needed to finally explain my low rating, even if it's been a hot second.

Maybe this was over-hyped and that ruined it for me. All I know is that I was really just not impressed. Everyone else has raved about how this book blew their socks off, but my socks were still very much on by the end--along with my shoes. This book really didn't wow me, but it's also not in my typical genre.

In conclusion, if you read this book and didn't like it, you're not alone. And if you haven't read this book, by all means read it! I'm probably just missing something important, or I'm just weird, and you'll love it like so many other people do. :)
