First, for the bad. I thought this would be a lot different than what it was in many ways.

The title promises that you will learn to build your brand on Social Media. It does not tell you that it focuses primarily on Instagram and talks about virtually no other platform. It does not say that if you have less than 100,000 Instagram followers, and especially if you have less than 25,000 followers, you will not be able to use any of these tactics. It does not help you figure out how to get to even 1,000 followers except to say that trying to brand or niche your account before you have 1,000 followers is pointless.

This book is heavily slanted towards beauty and photography bloggers on Instagram. I was hoping that this was going to be a more general roadmap towards gaining success and engaged followers across many Social Media platforms. Many, if not most of the examples given are about gaining sponsorships, and about how you should react when someone wants you to sponsor content on your Instagram account. As an author, I'm not interested in sponsoring content from big name brands so that I can get free makeup samples and handbags, so this part just really fell flat for me.

And now the good. I listened to the Audiobook and now I want to get a physical copy to know more.

There is a roadmap, of sorts. There is a path laid out here, though it seems to me that some of the signposts have been obscured. I may have to rethink aspects of the roadmap to better fit my brand. I'm an author, so the point isn't to sell other people's stuff on Instagram, the point is to get people excited about my own stuff.

I found the section about webpage content to be the most useful to me. While I don't care about sponsorships, some of the sample wording in the section about webpages really made a lot of sense. I can see how that would tell people a lot more about my content and my brand than what I have and I want to make those changes soon.
