Holy crap the whiplash of this book hurts!

I was already having a day where I cried at everything and then the last 1/4 of this happened and I just melted into a puddle at the betrayal. I'm having a hard time waiting until book 3 so I can't imagine how people are surviving if they read this book right when it came out!

Why do I let authors hurt me with their star-crossed lovers romance?! Also, there's kinda time and space travel which I am ABSOLUTE TRASH FOR. But also the ending betrayal...oph that hurt
