A thumping good read in the best way. It reminded me of so many books I love: Jane Eyre, Possession, Secret Garden, and yet it felt entirely new and different.
Morton has an amazing ability to drop a thread, let it trail, and then pick it up and weave it into the story. It's a complex story, darting back and forth in time, and there's just not a missed step.
