4/4.5 stars.
A novel that book readers will love. Dark and well written, filled with moving moments that highlight how far a mother will go for her children.
The reason this didn't get the full 5 stars for me is because it felt unfinished. The characters were so well written with multiple facets to their personalities, their interactions well thought out. However, the main goal seemed to be left behind come the end of the book, now whether this is an indication that a sequel will be written or not, I am unsure.
If you are a fan of books that flit between the past and the present, twisted fairy tales and gritty women - then this will be of interest to you.
