I wish for you all the joy that this darkened world can employ.

I never would have picked this book up, if my friend hadn't bought it for me. I am not really fond of reading romance and fairytales, in general.
I went into this book expecting to not like it, but i was completely surprised. This was so fun and so heartbreaking. Part of me knew what was coming, but I didn't want to believe it, i didn't want to accept it. It is always difficult to see the characters you have grown to love and care about about meet a tragic end.

I loved how Marissa Meyer morphed this story while keeping the feel and tone of the orginal. Wonderland was wondrous the way it was supposed to be, and all the characters acted the way they were supposed to.

I really really enjoyed this book. I would recommend it to anyone who is into retellings or in mood for some lighthearted read.


Its a story about a girl named Catherine who has no interest in becoming a Queen. Her parents wants her to marry the King of hearts but Catherine wants to open a bakery and fall in love. She works to make her dream a reality not knowing that fate has something else in store for her. She is destined to become a heartless evil queen.

This story is about her forbidden love and dreams that will lead to her downfall, that will make her the Queen of Hearts.
