It's the first book I read by Julie Mulhern and I had no expectations. I knew she writes lovely mysteries but I had no expectations.
It was a great discovery because I started to read this book and - BOOM - I was in love with the style of writing, the 70s setting and the humour.
It's a great mystery, full of twists and turns, that will keep you hooked till the last page.
There's also a subplot concerning a social theme and I appreciated the empathy and the tenderness for the victims.
The character development is great, they're fleshed out and well written and all of them are likable. Ms Mulhern is also very good at writing pet characters but the best one was the cat from hell that cause one of the funniest part of the book.
The historical setting is great and it's like travelling back in time.
I look forward to reading the next book in this series and will surely read the previous installment.
