blood scion was chilling to the bone (in the best of ways). what a PHENOMENAL debut.
i appreciated the pacing and the worldbuilding. the action never lags, and we get bits and pieces of the world & culture as things escalate. i am still pretty curious about the history of this world, but i anticipate we'll get more information in book 2.
sloane is a very well written MC. she's passionate and strong and only frustrated me a few times. :)
while, this is a young adult book, but the themes feel very adult (& the characters age up quickly - of course this has a lot to do with their experiences due to the subject matter).
i can't believe we were left with such an intense cliffhanger .. (i've got to wait until 2023?!?)
CW: murder, violence, blood, sexual assault, rape, self harm, death of a parent, death of a child
