lenny3 's review for:
City of Bones
by Cassandra Clare
Ok - so, 16 year old Lenny would have really liked this, I think. 30 year old Lenny feels like she 100% missed the boat. That being said, I will (and already have) continue the series (my library have the audiobooks - I don't think I would actually read the physical copies of these ones, I don't think I would get through them).
The story moves pretty fast, so it is enough to keep me interested, but the critical part of my brain does get caught up on the slight girl-hate, the repetitiveness of descriptions (everyone always has a sweaty back/neck. Always), and the Mary-Sue like qualities of the protag. Could have also done without the... romance... ya'll know what I mean. Little GOT-esque. ;)
But I will finish off the first 3 in the series, and decide from there if I want to invest in the rest.
