The Sacrifice by Rin Chupeco

2.5⭐️

I think this will be my last attempt with this author, clearly we do not get along lol

The atmosphere of this book was fantastic! I loved the creepy nature horror, the creeping vines, moving branches, etc. I don’t think it was executed as well as it could have been, but it was there and I liked it! That was about all that I liked unfortunately. The characters felt one dimensional. The plot was predictable from the first chapter. The villain was the epitome of Moustache Twirly. The narrative voice was extremely bland. Even what should have been moments of tension to me felt very clinical and removed. There was no immersion into the world, I just felt like I was being told instead of actually being part of it.

I think if you’re a fan of Rin Chupeco then you’ll like this one, but as much as I wanted to like it it just wasn’t for me
