There are elements of this I like but also somehow the dialogue has low points far worse than the first book, which is pretty odd for a follow up.

It’s still commercial/popcorn fiction that’s incredibly easy to consume and I actually really like the idea of werewolves being an organic defence for a region when vampires are near.

The dynamics between the characters are fine again, not great. It’s believable in a suspend your disbelief, emotions dial up the romance/supernatural elements to frayed edges, kind of way.

Some things are worse, some are better. Evens out; mostly.
