Beneath the Citadel
by Destiny Soria
Such a fantastic book!
“Four people were supposed to die at sunrise.”
If that’s not a great way to start a book I don’t know what is.
For too long the council has ruled over Eldra interpreting the prophecies of the seers. Cassa, Newt, Alys, and Evander want nothing more than to finish what the rebellion started ... bringing down the council. But their plan is foiled before it even begins and an even darker plot begins to unfold in front of them.
The story is told from the perspective of 5 characters, each a wholly unique person with their own motives for doing what they’re doing. Cassa wants to follow in her parents footsteps. Newt wants to become something. Alys and Evander want to fight against the injustice done to their family. Vesper wants to stop the monster under the citadel.
This book starts off quick and never slows down for a moment. There’s magic and wit and cunning throughout the book that weaves a truly captivating story.
Soria outdid herself in this one and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next!
