I'm honestly not sure how to feel about this book. The beginning had me hooked; it set up an interesting sibling relationship between Betsey and Ophelia and I was excited to get to explore that. While we do get to explore that, they're not together for a lot of the book, so it's definitely explored in a different way from what I was expecting.
The middle of the book feels like it loses its way a little bit; partly because there are a lot of different storylines introduced. I would have really enjoyed getting to hear more about Ophelia's sisters and other family, but that gets pushed a little to the side.
I will say, if you like pirate adventures, this book has so much of that. And a little bit about curses and family and finding your own way. It's a pretty quick, fun read.
