The Murder of Roger Ackroyd
by Agatha Christie
I was interested in reading this particular Christie because it is heralded as being a landmark in the mystery genre. I read this through the lens of its influence on books that came after and its groundbreaking literary devices. Christie's influences are immediately seen in the modern genre from the obvious such as P.D.James to the less obvious such as Gillian Flynn. Great read and an interesting history lesson regarding the mystery genre.
