Excellent sequel to the first book in this trilogy! I was so glad to see more of Red's backstory, and to revisit my favorite characters and scenes. This book shows the gritty underbelly of Faerie stories, changelings/ kidnapping, murder, revenge, starvation in captivity. Red is so jaded and hardened by everything she has seen and done; it makes her a fascinating character. We also see the charming and pretty side of the Faerie world though, and the writing reflects that enchantment.
