The Chalk Man by C.J. Tudor

I read this in a day, so yes it was entertaining. It had a kind of original plot and dual timeline with chapters that often ended on cliffhangers. Very easy to read!

The only problem I had was the writing. The author often used parenthesis to reveal things, like "I didn't know what that was (I later learned it was this)." And an overuse of dashes "I didn't know what they were doing here-or why they looked like that." And often used line breaks to emphasize a sentence, like "I looked at the picture *line break* and realized my big mistake." But I think this writing style is common in thrillers so it wasn't enough to make me hate it. This book was a good palette cleanse
