Along the Mystic River

A really lovely story. The characters were all very sweet and likable, and it was nice to read a no-drama romance—or at least none of the characters-get-in-their-own-way-and-nearly-destroy-everything kind.
I did get a kick out of it when I thought to myself in the very first chapter that this story set in America wasn’t written by an American (I read the author profile after finishing to confirm my suspicions). There was an instance where the wrong character’s name was used that made me go “wait, what?” and there were a couple of places where there were missing beginning or ending quotation marks, but that’s on the editor and the writing otherwise was great.
