Dear Justyce by Nic Stone
4.0

this book is hard to read because of how realistic it is, and sadly the most functional part of it is that help is offered and people wanting to actually find out and work to find out what happens and how a child was treated in police custody and how a confession was achieved.

it’s horrible that the apparently so advanced nation as the usa so often boosts itself as is so horrendously and openly racist about anyone that’s not white.

it’s horrible to read of black children are literary shoved into a life of crime because they have no other option since anyone that would be able to stop it from happening sees them as hopeless from the start.

the entire book made me cry angry while reading because of how real it feels with all the horrible racist thing becoming known and being seen all over the world that are happening every day in the usa.

honestly the only reason i am not giving this book 5 stars is because half the book felt very distancing for me.
because there is already a lot of the book written in letter format, i wasn’t a huge fan that some section where also done in script format.
i personal prefer actual writing to letters or script BUT i do understand why the author didn’t want to dive even deeper into it all by writing the book more in novel format.

all in all this book is sadly showing how horrible the “justice” system is in the usa and how it should finally be overworked and made into something that’s actually justice for all and not a very specific group of people (which are white, preferable men and even better with a good income)

it’s wonderful that this book exists and it should be talked about more and shared more to make even more people and especially teenager aware of how sometimes you can try and do everything right but it’s actually not you that’s not working but rather the entire raustem that should work to help you, instead works against you.

defiantly a must read.
