First up: this was 110% not what I was expecting at all. I was expecting a down the rabbit hole experience where Wonderland was filled with zombies and Alice had to battle her way to save Wonderland ..... that's what I get for not reading the description.
Second up: I still loved this book and now I'm mad at myself for letting it sit on my shelf for so long! Yeah, it was more high school than Wonderland but I really really loved the characters. I love Ali and I find it hard to like female, high school age characters. She was great and her and Kat's friendship is friendship goals. Cole wasn't bad either although I do think Showalter was trying a little too hard to make him the "good bad boy" type. He was still enjoyable. And his group of friends were great.
It took a while to get to the zombies but once they arrived in full force the book was super action packed! You can definitely tell that this was a development book, a get to know the characters book but so much happened it's making me curious about the rest of the series!
