This is my absolute favorite book in this series. Stefan and Mira are EVERYTHING. We see Stefan in the two previous books, and everyone thinks he is the scum of the earth. He certainly seemed like he was. Looks can be deceiving though, and Mira is the one woman who can unravel the mystery and who discovers the kind of man Stefan truly is. Mira was his match through and through, the person who challanged him and made him better. Stefan was such a confident man but it was clear that he was using it to cover up his hurt, and he was actually a vulnerable guy with such a huge heart beneath it all. The way he loved Mira and the horses was beautiful. Stefan admired Mira's independence and never tried to change her, giving her the freedom she wanted and needed to be herself. I loved the scene where he stands up to her family and does not put up with her being mistreated because he recognizes that she is amazing just as she is. The two of them just oozed sexual tension and oh my goodness, the smut was other worldy when they finally did get together. Stefan had such a mouth on him and he was not afraid to use it. Off the charts chemistry, banter and steam with swoon worthy, romantic moments galore. I love that this had a city boy moves to small town and falls in love with both it and its people. I also really was happy to see the relationship between Stefan and Billie evolve and grow. This book was just amazing and so well written and hit all the right notes.
“You are not the pawn, Mira. You are the prize.”
