At this point I've learned that the only thing you can reliably predict about the Skyward series is that anything else you may think is going to happen absolutely won't. The story twists and turns and takes wild leaps into new dimensions (sometimes literally). Each full novel has been very different to the last, and the novellas had a few surprises of their own too. 

Cytonic is probably my least favourite of the three main novels to date, but it's still exciting and I enjoyed it. It's weird - I think that's the best word for it - and sometimes a little bit too drawn out, but Sophie Aldred's superb narration of the audiobook stopped me feeling bored (which I wonder if I might have at times in the print version). She's simply perfect as Spensa.   

The ending packs a punch, and I am very much looking forward reading the next book.
