As someone who struggled as a young person to understand where my role was in building a world I wanted to see, this book would have given me the language and perspectives I needed then so I’m glad this will exist for young readers now (although it’s easy to forget it’s YA so it’s worth picking up at any age). Adored the characters and the romance was sweet and I appreciate how such heavy topics didn’t slide into hopelessness.
