tomcat12 's review for:
The Burning God
by R.F. Kuang
adventurous
dark
sad
slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven:
A mix
Strong character development:
No
Loveable characters:
No
Diverse cast of characters:
Complicated
Flaws of characters a main focus:
Yes
Couldn’t get into it. I liked the first, loved the second but couldn’t like this one.
I understand what the author is telling us, there are flashes of genious in the book but it seemed unpolished…
I am quite a picky reader so… maybe I am a little tough here.
There is plenty of good stuff, the cleverness of RF KUANG is seeping through the pages. But it doesn’t hold together.
I would highly recommand Babel, witch is much better, by the same writer.
