I found this book to be a little heavy on the telling instead of showing, especially towards the end of the book. I found it completely unnecessary as you could infer most of what the author was telling through the world-building and character interactions. It felt like the story was dumbed down to make sure the reader entirely understood everything the author wanted to say without having to critically engage with the story.
Aside from that, I loved the concept of the story and (most of) the characters. I would recommend it to people looking for a dystopian/fantasy new adult read with very minimal romance.
