Yes, it looks like nonsense, and in some places it is. The author studied stoic thinking and ancient forms of wisdom for so long that he lost contact with reality and common sense.

But!

The main message of this book and its function, if you can tell the difference between diamonds and shit, is powerful. The author presents the artist as a mediator of the very nature of creativity, built into the structure of reality. And he inspires us to fight those parts of us that resist creativity. This is a very naive, very sincere attempt to share a subjective view. I would have preferred a deeper and more intellectual work on creativity as a manifestation of the primordial laws of the universe. No matter what, Pressfield's book motivates you to create and share.
