A Lady for a Duke
by Alexis Hall
I wanted to love this. I really really did. I loved the concept of a queer historical romance. A trans FMC with a huge support system & a friends to strangers to lovers sound perfect to me, but this was the worst thing a book can be. It was boring. I felt like every conflict was resolved so fast and so easily. The plot felt drawn out. While we had great chemistry & drama at the beginning, as soon as the initial conflict was resolved everything started to fall flat. This did not need to be 460 pages. I honestly would have loved this as a novella.
