The Pickwick Papers
by Charles Dickens
Though it's well worth a read, its original formatting as serialised newspaper fiction generates some lack of continuity, as far as the plot is concerned -- which is not an issue, as long as you like that sort of thing! The characters are understandably one-dimensional, as comedy characters tend to be, but they're generally lovable and hOO BOY this book is hilarious!! Idk if it would be as funny to anybody else as it was to me, but I constantly found myself laughing out loud. That being said, I feel like some parts of it were pure filler, and cause the story to drag and sag a little. But I wouldn't not have read it for the world!!
