Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me
by Lily Collins
a nicely done book sharing honestly and realistically what life can be like.
i didn’t know anything about collins other than that she is an actress a have seen in a few movies i enjoyed and her father is phil collins a musician i grew up with listening too and loving.
but her book title and subtitle interested me and i am so thankful that i picked this books up.
is it world changing because it talked all it things i didn’t know about?
no!
not at all!
but it was such a refreshing and honest view into another woman’s life and her struggles and successes and i enjoyed it a lot.
on top of that collins as a great writing voice and a way of sharing and telling her point of view without sounding as if it’s the only right option.
i liked how she talked about bad relationships and decisions, her struggles with her body and jobs and how she felt about her parents parting ways.
it was a very well done book with a good amount of true and well said sentences that i enjoyed a lot.
this book is more of a reflection of where collins is currently thanks or despise her past and so if you are looking for deep insides of her life growing up or want drama - this isn’t the book for you!
but if you want a quiet but real voice, that feels almost more like a talk with a friend than reading a book by a person you most likely never meet? this is perfect for you!
