This is the first book I've read with a third act breakup that is not only acceptable but the best decision. Despite being marketed with popular, lighthearted tropes like fake dating and Grumpy x Sunshine, Stars In Your Eyes hits hard with its heavy themes. It primarily features the way trauma can shape/destroy our relationships with others and that it is not the responsibility of one person to save another. It takes so much more than just a seemingly-perfect love interest to wipe the slate clean, and I admire how this book tackles that.
