I am so incredibly picky with contemporary! Normally I like quirky reads because I hate getting emotional about real things but I've loved the author's other books, so I was like, let me test the waters here! And I was not disappointed!

However this contemporary was cool because it had some historical stuff! We get two POVs—one present day and the other one going back to history. I loved both Priya and Biji! Priya really grows as a character as you read from her perspective from beginning until end. And Biji, I wanted to hug and bring her home with me!

This book is touching, emotional, with gorgeous writing and world building that takes you straight to India. I've always wanted to go there and now I want to even more. I highly recommend this one!
