This was really hard to read but so necessary and important and I think every non-Indigenous person in Canada should read it. Jesse Thistle is a Métis man and he shares his story of intergenerational trauma, poverty, homelessness, addiction, time in prison, etc. As a white Canadian, I know that I need to learn more about experiences not like mine, specifically about Indigenous perspectives, and reading is one way or can do that.
