myntop 's review for:
Days of Blood & Starlight
by Laini Taylor
I listened to this book on Audio using the Libby app. I absolutely love the narrator for this series. The voices and accents she uses in her narrating are amazing and successfully immerse the reader into the world that the author has created.
Karou has become the master in this tale. She has taken over where Brimstone left off and is helping the White Wolf create an army for the war they are embarking upon against the angels. Zuzana is wondering where Karou is and she is on a mission to find her and make sure she's safe, dragging Mik along for the ride. I love Zuzana and Mik's relationship. They are so sweet and they honor and respect each other. I feel like theirs is a relationship to aspire to.
On the other side is Akiva and he is still in love with Karou but back with his brother and sister and trying to help Karou's cause in other ways. When things finally come to a head, I'm not sure if the angels are better or worse off than before.
The last half of the book went so fast and had my mind reeling. From the switch that Karou has made, to the drastic lengths that Akiva has gone to... I'm breathless! The third book will likely be just as action packed and have me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait!
