Witness Protection Widow
by Debra Webb
2.5 stars. It's an okay book.
Witness Protection Widow follows Ali who is in witness protection because in a few days she has to testify against her dangerous father-in-law. Jax is the new marshal assigned to protect her during the last five days before the trial.
When I started Witness Protection Widow, I was expecting something different which influenced my reading experience throughout. I was expecting more (steamy) romance, especially since Ali and Jax had a history together, but overall, there wasn't a lot of romance. When there was romance, for me, it fell flat. I was not really into it or felt like it was too rushed. Now, I am unsure whether this is the case of all Harlequin Intrigue or just this book since this is the first Harlequin Intrigue book I have read.
I found the most interesting part when it was uncovered what really happened to Ali. She went through a lot. However, the ending was so rushed.
