The Donut Trap
by Julie Tieu
I will admit that I was expecting more of an actual romance rather than a coming of age story with a romantic theme. Don't get me wrong; I still enjoyed it. But it's not what I would call a romance novel. Still, I think most of us can resonate with jasmine about being at a crossroads in her life, not sure where she wanted to go or what she wanted to do and just meandering along until she figured it out.
Still, there is what I could call a HFN ending, which I liked. I also appreciated the developments her familial relationships made since that was the crux of all of her issues. I would recommend this but with the caveat that it's not a straight romance.
