I enjoyed this story of friendship among all odds.

Agnes isn't used to having friends her age who want to hang out with her and don't see her as a burden. Bo isn't used to having friends her age who don't automatically judge her for her family's reputation. When they find each other, they find a true friendship that is strong and real and what each girl needs in her life at the moment.

Friendships between girls can be hard, and there is often some judgement and resentment between girls, especially at this age. I love that the author managed to cover those issues, while also telling a story of a friendship that didn't have that problem. I enjoyed the way Bo and Agnes related to each other. How Agnes didn't judge Bo for her family or the rumors, how Bo didn't treat Agnes like she was less because of her disability. These are the friendships girls in Middle and High school need. The unwavering kind, the non-judgement kind, the truly care about each other kind. If we're lucky, we all have one friend in our lives that fits this description.
