Ellie Alexander is my favorite cozy mystery author, so I was a bit tentative about this one. However, she did not disappoint! I loved that the mystery in this book is about investigating the past. I loved our main character, Emily, and I related to her so much! The book was a lovely pace, and the writing was atmospheric. I found myself laughing and crying with the characters. The magical elements are integrated into the story very naturally. I genuinely hope this turns into a series, because I already want to read this again!
