It's been a minute since I read fantasy as well fleshed out and concise as this one. The characters literally leaped off the page (into my heart uwu) and the author did all this in less than 150 pages? Amazed, flabbergasted, socks blown off.
It's really one of those books that you're better off knowing nothing of until you read it, so I won't say more than: it has great characters, good worldbuilding, and an interesting mystery to tie it all up. I just wish I could read it again for the first time over and over because it's that good!

The audiobook is also excellent, kudos to the narrator for all the inflection and the voices. It really did help the story to feel more pressing and real so I can 100% recommend.
