Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire

Wow! For such a short book, 169 pages, a lot happens. I could not put this book away, and I definitely didn't see the plot twist and ending coming.

This book has an asexual main character and a transgender main character. I'm not transgender, and questioning my sexuality (might be ace, might be something else), but I felt like the representation was good written. I was happy to finally read a book with an ace main character!

The plot was really interesting. I didn't expect what happened to happen. And while I was a little confused about all the different worlds, so was the main character. And it didn't make it any less fun to read.

I read this all in one day. Only a few hours. The only breaks I took was to eat or answer a text. And I can't wait until I read the next book! I would definitely recommend this book!

I haven't read a lot of novellas, one or two Dutch ones for school, but I really enjoyed it! I'm not a fan of big books, yet I still read them. And while I think big books look amazing, they also scare me a little. Because it feels like it never ends. But a novella... it feels so much better. You can read so much more stories... I don't know if that makes sense. But I'll definitely look for more novellas in the future.
