2019: The biggest downfall here is that I have not read The Odyssey, and therefore had no idea many of the relationships between the characters. Although Miller did a good job of establishing familial ties during the story, there were many nuances that I was unable to pick up on, not having any of the backstory until it was too late. This didn't make me enjoy reading this book, and for that, I cannot give more than 3 stars.
