I am in awe over how beautiful the writing of Blood Water Paint is. While the story is presented in verse, I never felt lost or “out of touch” with the protagonist and her story. I was consumed by this novel and read it in just two sittings. If you are looking for a historical novel with a strong theme of feminism, I recommend giving this title a go!
