i didn't realize this was middle grade when i started, but halfway through i checked and found out it was. i think my initial impression of the book would've been better if i had prepared myself for a MG book, but nonetheless this wasn't a enjoyable book for me, regardless of how poorly i prepared my mindset for reading this book
