Update November 2023
This book is a masterpiece of world building. The author skillfully used descriptive language and imagery to transport the reader to a different reality. Each page was filled with rich details and vivid scenes that made you feel like you were part of the story. However, I can see why some people didn't enjoy it as much. It's not as plot driven as other book. It lacks in action, and plot twists, but it has a lot beauty and wonder. Some may find the ending unsatisfactory as it leaves a lot of questions unanswered especially the identity of Mr. A.H.
The circus is my favorite part of the book. It has so many amazing tents that showcase different aspects of the world. It makes me feel like a kid again, wanting to explore and experience everything the circus has to offer.
The love story of the main characters is so beautifully written. The things they do for each other is heartwarming.

Atmospheric writing.
Intricate and celverly executed plot.
Complex, yet lovable characters.
I didn't think I would like this book as much but it took me by surprise.
It was slow in the begining and vague but it didn't bother me at all. Mainly because Erin created a vivid picture of the circus so much so that I felt like I was their seeing all the magical glory of the circus with my own eyes. It was so engrossing and engaging.
Contrary to what people say, it wasn't a romance novel in my opinion. Romance was there but it wasn't the prime focus of the story. The story was more about the circus and the competition. Romance just helped the story to move forward.
I fell in love with each and every character in the book, even the bad ones. They were all so real, complicated and flawed i couldn't not like them.
A must read for fantasy lovers.
