Milkman is like marmite. You either love it or you hate. Unfortunately, I fall in the latter group. Well, 'hate' is a strong word. It's more that I disliked this book. I found the rambling narrative of "middle sister" to be really annoying. The book could have been a lot better if big sections were cut out.

I thought that the way characters were not named was very creative. It created the sense of fear during the Troubles. Knowing a person's name gives power to someone.

Sadly, this book just didn't speak to me.
