This was an engaging character story set around three lunch ladies and their world in the six months leading up to a town parade for the bicentennial. I enjoyed getting to know these characters and their stories we’re told in an often emotional yet also humorous way. I especially loved Coralene and her family, Sheila was an unusual and at times led a bittersweet life. Crystal was a bit much at first but I began to understand where she was coming from. If you’re looking for a great character based story this is it.
