Awakening the Warriors
by S.E. Gilchrist
Awakening The Warriors (novella) by S. E. Gilchrist. 3.5 stars★
(The Darkon Warriors Series but can be a stand-alone-book I think).
This was a little hard for me to rate. In all I think this was good for a light sci-fi erotica read. It's a short story with an ok plot. It's 6 chapters long and quick to read through. I read this in just a couple of hours. I wouldn't want this to be any longer. But it would have been nice if there was more development to the plot and characters.
Being that I don't mind a light sci-fi story every now and then, I thought this was ok. It is definitely erotica porn I think. I liked that and was glad that the author didn't go overboard. The storyline of Fran and the other captives trying to escape made this more than just a erotica story. It was a good but predictable plot. There was a little bit if confusion but nothing that stopped me from reading.
Fran was a little bit likeable for me. She seemed like the typical 30-something singleton looking for an adventure out of her normal life. In the end I did and didn't like her. The storyline takes place within a few days - I think (bit confused with that). So the instant love was a little predictable and unbelievable for me because Fran kept thinking about returning to Earth. It didn't seem that she wanted the Dracon warriors except for the great sex.
The two Dracon warriors (Quain and Jerrell) are predictable and I kind of liked them. I'm a little curious as to what happened to the third Drakon warrior. But I don't even recall his name, so that's fine. They do seem to be the super-species type. But as for aliens and expreimentations on species, I didn't think there was any.
The action, suspense and sex was good. Probably why this is still on my kindle. And I just might be tempted to reread this again when I feel like a light erotica story.
A Netgalley book. Opinions are my own.
