dermkat 's review for:
Anne of Manhattan
by Brina Starler
Heads up for Anne Shirley fans: if you are a purist and don't want anything different from the original this will not be for you, especially if open door romances aren't your thing. This modern romance takes places when Anne and Gil end up in the same grad school after he transfers back from across the country and their "will they won't they" picks up again. It is not super super smutty but things are also not left to the imagination or only implied by any means. Personally, other than the fact that the story was moved from Canada down to New York state (Green Gables is a winery on Long Island in the Hamptons area, but EXCUSE ME, but she is OURS), I really enjoyed the updating and changes that came along with the obvious references to the entire original Anne series. So personally, as a huge Anne fan, I loved this book and am very glad I randomly found it while scrolling through available ebooks on a lazy Sunday!
