An unsurprising story of a middle school social climber realizing who her true friends are with the help of her wise grandmother. Despite the ubiquity of the narrative, I really enjoyed this retelling. With interesting, complex characters and a fun scavenger hunt to move the story along, Wish Upon a Sleepover is a sweet, well-told novel.
