OMG I just LOVED this book! As an audiobook person, this one seriously got me back into physical books. I did not want to put it down! The pacing was perfect and the plot was unique and interesting with familiar fairytale vibes. There’s a prince of a magical kingdom with an evil stepmother of a queen and the lone unicorn shifter who gets kidnapped for her power then needs to save her people (shifters) from said evil queen. I’d call this more of a one-side (at a time) hate to lovers/fated mates romance though I would classify this as a fantasy book first with romantic developments as it goes on. Or maybe just a very tasteful romantasy.
The Last Unicorn inspiration was very nostalgic and refreshing at the same time. The characters and world building were amazing though I’m hoping to get a longer book 2 to know more about some of the magical beings that were only touched upon in this one and because I want more Nero and Lemon! The main characters end up confessing by the end of this one and it’s all very sweet with a dash of spice. so I’m excited to see how their relationship continues to develop. Ends on a little cliffhanger but nothing too dramatic.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one and will be eagerly awaiting what comes next!
