I Like Him, He Likes Her by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor
5.0

Alice is about to start her first year of high school - ninth grade has so many possibilities and she is determined to make them all the best. Things don't start off too well when her boyfriend leaves her for one of her friends, and so life begins. Alice is a fantastic character that I hope my daughter will enjoy reading very soon. She looks at life with a unique perspective that makes you fall in love.
This edition contains three stories about Alice - the first half of freshman year, the second half, and the summer after. One of the best parts of the book was seeing how much she grew in the span of one year - how life changed her and made her a better person. It took me back to my days in high school and I recognized several characters - so similar to the ones I knew back then.
This series is a fantastic coming of age that deals with the little issues (because that's what seems big at times) as well as the big ones (they make you realize what the little ones are). I look forward to growing with Alice as she continues into her sophmore year - seeing all the ups, downs and in betweens.
