Twisted Games
by Ana Huang
A princess and her bodyguard, a forbidden romance, two people who constantly are at each other’s throats... and the romance heating up between them. Princess Bridget von Ascheberg was always meant to be the spare, the one who didn’t have to become the next ruler but when her brother abdicates the throne, its her turn to take up the duty and become queen, something she has never wanted. There goes her freedom, her choice, her chance at life, all to service her country. She hasn’t been trained, hasn’t prepared for any of it, and soon things are about to get complicated. Cue Rhys Larsen, ex-Navy Seal turned private protection contractor. He’s a perfect bodyguard, he’s followed two strict rules 1) Protect his clients at all cost and 2) never become emotionally or personally involved with his clients. All that goes out the window when Bridget and Rhys are assigned together and soon their bickering and bantering leads way to more as the chemisitry and romance between them slowly builds up and they find that they night share more in common than they think. However, in order for Bridget to become Queen she is required to marry royalty and with such a looming date counting down, her forbidden romance with Rhys might just destroy her. Now they will have to figure out if what they have is worth fighting for, or if duty over love is how they will live. This was such a fun read! I loved Bridget and Rhys, I loved the slow building up of romance and the way they both tried to do what was best for the other. I seriously adored this book!
